If you use that link you can click on any year to the left of the page to read about what the Stones were up to...recording sessions...releases...solo projects etc. And not just the Stones but their associates as well. It is a fine place to do research on the Stones as is keno.org. I just looked at 1978 at TCWOTRS. When Some Girls came out I opted to buy the 8-track tape so I could hear the album in the car. Turns out many of the song versions were different from the ones on the LP. Some longer versions and some edited. For years I had no idea this was true. Here are the differences:
8-track-cartridge ‘Some Girls’ (Rolling Stones Records RSC TP 39108, -US).
Producers: The Glimmer Twins. Incl. the special versions of
- Miss You (MJ/KR) -longer version than on LP; unavailable elsewhere
- Far Away Eyes (MJ/KR) -shorter version than on LP; same as single-edit
- Beast Of Burden (MJ/KR) -longer version than on LP; unavailable elsewhere
- Shattered (MJ/KR) -shorter version than on LP; same as promo edit
