Bands you've tried hard to get into but can't

I agree that life is too short to waste time listening to music you don't really dig. However, I do read reviews and criticism, and I do get sucked into this silly Rolling Stone top 100, 500 or whatever lists. And I think a band is worth the time to attempt to keep delving into them to find the supposed greatness. But it just doesn't always work.
