You don't say what music your teacher liked, but you make reference to the 20's and 30's. I've got to say that as a young teenager the music of that era would not have been on my radar. However by late teens and into my twenties I had been introduced to things like the jazz and ragtime (of classic and tin pan alley varieties) from that period, through listening to guitarists like Stefan Grossman and Micky Baker. I love it, fantastic music.

For PIB do you know if Mick Jagger had a melody for his lyrics when he introduced the song?
