Trynka never hid the fact that he wanted to counter the impression left by Keith's "Life" and that he got the idea for his BJ biography when reading Keith's book.
It's a shame that so many people seem to focus on Brian's character flaws (yes he did have them, but don't we all!) instead of the music. Yet a lot of the same people will give the rest of the band a free pass. As if there wasn't an overblown ego among them and as if they didn't have their own charcter flaws.
There aren't many rock stars (dead or alive) that I would have liked to sit down and have a beer with. George Harrison for sure, Allen Collins, Artimus Pyle, maybe Charlie Watts, and maybe Jim Morrison (because he was such an odd bird and that truly fascinates me). That's pretty much it.
I prefer to focus on the music. And the music that comes out of Brian's instruments is a music that talks to me on a very deep level. Nothing is ever going to change that.
