RE: beatles and stones...good friends!!!

The Beatles/Stones thing is something that would make, at the very least, a good long magazine article, if not a book. The Stones have known them almost from the very beginning, as the Beatles had been doing a TV gig very close to the Crawdaddy, and Georgio Golmensky had visited them trying to sell them a movie idea. He happened to mentioned to them about stopping by to see the Stones play, and so they showed up halfway through the first set. They talked during the band break, and got along pretty well, so they watched the second set, and actually went back to Edith Grove with them to hang out all night!

In the early years, of course, they were both so busy, they would hardly see each other except in passing. But when they both slowed down on the touring after 66, they would see each other more often - it is not commonly known that Harrison had been at Redlands until right before the big bust. And of course, they hung out at the same clubs in London - Bag o'Nails especially - EVERYbody hung out there. Then, of course, is the idea that...supposedly...that there a period of time they would actually make sure they wouldn't release singles at the same time, so as to make sure they wouldn't compete against each other.

And yeah, Lennon made tarty remarks about the Stones - but then again, Lennon made tarty remarks about EVERYbody at one time or another...

One last little thing - it is not generally known that one of - if the very last - track George Harrison ever played on, was a track with Bill's Rhythm Kings...
