Why the hell would he make up such a lie and put it in a movie for all to see?
I think he does it because he can, and he knows that most fans will just lap it up. Most fans love Keith-isms, so he keeps coming up with them. The best ones are passed down from one generation of fans to the next, like some kind of heirloom. This includes the Muddy one.
Muddy could have easily disputed that
If Keith came up with that one in 1989, there isn't a thing Muddy could have done about it, since he died in 1983. I had to look it up to make sure. He's been gone for so long...!
I saw that specific Keith-ism refuted somewhere. Too bad I can't remember where it was, or who said it. But this person said that musicians did music at Chess Studios. They did not paint ceilings, or anything else for that matter.
