If we can, some way, in our minds erase what they did as Beatles and go solely on what they did individually as if there was no Beatles, I'd say Lennon and McCartney squeak in and George and Ringo do not.
Since a number of much less deserving acts are in, I think that all four should be in, even based on their solo accomplishments alone.
Here's a question: if there was a R&R HOF that was truly about recognizing contributions to rock music and not simply about selling more albums, who would be in? Obviously we can summarily kick out all the non-rock acts, starting with all the rap guys.
But among the genuine rock bands and solo artists, who should be in and who should not?
