One day in the early 1980s my coworker & I drove to Kennedy Airport to read the electric meters (every month, for 2 days.)
This one day we drove in there to find the entire airport crowded with Hispanic people. You had to see it! I wonder if the Beatles got that many people to greet them at JFK Airport in 1964!!
And this was a school day, and yet there were kids AND parents all over the place! And I mean ALL OVER THE PLACE!
It was very difficult to drive around!
We finally asked a young girl what's going on. She explained that a singing boy group not known in America yet called Menudo will be arriving soon, and everybody there hopes to at least catch a glimps. She also explained what 'menudo' means----pocket change.
We found out later that day that they did arrive, gave a quick bullshit wave, then disappeared.
