Where was the single that came out recorded, Los Angeles? I wonder if in the sixties that sound could have been produced in an English recording studio? Maybe Joe Meek crazy fuck that he was(way crazier than Spector),could have done it!
Sounds like an interesting boot you have DA, of course a gob iron would remove things even further from the original, but maybe it's a nice touch?
Sixties and every decade in between until the present, I've never heard, either being there, or on a boot or official release, a version that has the drive and energy of the single. I still have my original 45, that sound will always be the Rolling Stones for me.
