No, I didn't personally know any of the 9/11 victims. But that doesn't make my opinion any less valid. I don't personally know anyone who fought in Irak either but that doesn't mean I could not be opposed to that war. Which I was.
You're reacting emotionally, which is understandable. But political leaders don't have that luxury. Or shouldn't. Their decisions should be based on what was right. But in this case, it wasn't. They wanted to prevent a recurrence of the events, sure, but they also wanted revenge. And that's where they erred. Badly!
