I saw Boston in 1987 at The Brenden Byrne Arena. I always liked them, so I don't know why I'm saying I was surprised here. But I guess I'm reaching here because of your question. They were touring behind their very successful Third Stage album. I remember having a great time and leaving that show saying to myself they put on a terrific show. I don't know if "surprised" is the word to describe here, but maybe more of "impressed".
