I agree with DA. I wouldn't initiate a conversation with one of my rock heroes for fear that it might not go well and my image of them would be blown. If one of them initiated a conversation and was ego free, that would be surprisingly great. Years ago, a friend said to me, "Wouldn't you love to meet and talk with any of the Stones?" I said "No way!" He looked at me like I was crazy. I have too much emotion and too many feelings invested in my heroes and if one of them acted the fool with me, I would be crushed.
My daughter works at FOX news in NYC and she books guests for the show. When Bill Wyman wrote his book, he was featured on the show. My daughter, knowing what an avid fan I am, asked me to come down to the studio to meet him...I didn't! Specifically for the reasons I mentioned above. Instead, she got him to sign a copy of his book and she gave it to me for Xmas. He wrote me a little personal note in the book before he signed it, so my daughter must have told him I was afraid, lol! Judging from his words, I think I made a mistake in not going! He seemed very caring and sincere. Maybe next time, lol!
