But to also say (as another comment pointed out) because you haven't heard some of these names means they are not good drummers? How much sense does that make? As example, just because you haven't ever heard of a classical piece by a classical composer doesn't mean its not one of the greatest classical pieces ever written?
I'm the one who made the comment you're commenting on. Except that you are putting words in my mouth which I never said. Here is what I sayd, my entire post copied and pasted: Any such list is nothing more than the opinion of the person or persons who put it together. Personally I'm offended to see Charlie down at #91. Are these 90 guys (half of whom I've never heard of) really better than he is? My little Stones fan's heart says "no way!"
Please tell me where I said that any of these drummers that I've never heard of are not good? You can't, because I didn't. The bracketed part was an off-hand comment I added at the last minute. But I stand by what I said about Charlie: I simply don't believe that there are 90 drummers in rock music who are better than he is. This is nothing more than personal opinion and it is totally OK to disagree and to say so (even if it's probably not going to be very popular on a Stones message board.)
