RE: RE: A totally NSC reply

I wonder how well Cooper will do in the B'ball game today??

He called me up from school today at 1pm and said that he was still in pain but that the school janitor was working on his foot as he spoke to me and he was hoping that he might still be able to play. His school has no nurse, so his coach when hearing that Coop might not play, got the janitor to try to get some more of the spines out. I guess she knew what she was doing as she used duct tape on the tiny spines that I missed and that got the rest of them out that weren't embedded. So he wanted to know if his mother and I were still gonna come to the game and I told him not if he wasn't playing and that he shouldn't play in pain. I also didn't want to drive 17 miles one way in the snow just to give him a ride home after he rode the bench, so I told him to take the bus home after school and miss the game. But his coach called back a bit later and spoke to his mom, and by 4 o'clock we were there for the game. His team has kids from grades 6 thru 8th, he's in 8th and is the second tallest kid on his team. The tallest kid can't shoot the ball to save his life, but he can rebound. Coop shoots real well, and free throws and 3 pointers is what he shoots best. But he was still in pain by game time yet determined to play. The coach told us he would only play him for about half the game or less, but only if it was okay with us. On this other team, from a school with triple the kids, all but 1 of their kids were taller than all the kids on Coop's team. So he ended up playing about a third of the game and still ended up being the high scorer for his team, going 3 for 3 hitting 3 pointers (hitting nothing but net, too) and not taking any other shots. So he scored 9 points and his teammates scored another 11, and the other school won the game 38-20. But it is cool to see my grandson being the center of attention like that with his team. Even the other team's coach came up to him after the game and complimented him, which made him feel good.

what was the music you were playing that was blaring so loud last night?

The usual, SiriusXM radio.
