Agreed. He had a way to communicate car info so that the non-mechanically inclined could begin to figure what he was talking about. So I'd tune in and learn some interesting stuff.

"Stranger on the Shore" by Acker Bilk was one of the first 45's I ever bought, back around '62. It was a huge hit, perhaps the only recording of his that made it to top 40 radio. I'd also thought he was a sax player until I saw a a picture of him playing a clarinet. Much of the time he played the clarinet in a lower register so that it's sound resembled a mellow also sax.
