DA, I have one you might approve of: have you heard the 13th Floor Elevators? Their debut (1966) is a pumped up psychedelic wonderland, but all their stuff is great; kind of an exciting cross between the Stones and the Doors, and in a way crazier than both those bands ever got.

I found one on You Tube called "The Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators". Is that the one you are referring to JF? I quite like it! I don't know if it sounds like the Stones Meets the Doors. Listening to it now, it sounds like... the year 1967. LOL! Even the album cover is so very 1967-ish. Nobody would record an album like this today. Which is a shame! They don't make 'em like they used to!
