Of course being out of it on morphine and other things,my dad was in no way able to agree or not to being put on this plan. With euthanasia in terminal cases that is going to be the position more often than not i.e. it's families making the decision to end it.
This is why everyone should have a living will, that way it's still your decision and you don't have to make things hard on your family when you have - say a sudden heart attack and are in a coma and your loved ones are told you will never come out of it, yet you might live on for years in this death-like state. Of course, at least in our stupid country you still would be forced to live on anyway, unless you live in one or two states that allow your wishes to be met, but you could also request that you be moved to a location where the procedure can be legally performed.
