I voted in favor of it while a resident of Oregon. The right of a terminally ill person to decide the time and circumstances of their death on their own terms is a right that should be universal. Most of us will arrange to put down our dying pets to save them from needless suffering, because it is the humane option. But somehow people should not warrant the same mercy afforded to animals? Ironic that states with the death penalty kill their condemned criminals quickly, but a terminal patient that never harmed anyone is on their own for the duration. Also interesting that those who favor capital punishment tend to oppose euthanasia on "moral" grounds.
