I agree it's not a "spreading the fear" or fear of an outright epidemic nationwide. That will not happen. It's just been handled poorly imo. CDC telling the nurse she's ok to fly. Now tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars are spent tracing all the people she had contact with, disabling the plane for complete wipedown disinfection process (again so many wasted dollars in the cleaning of the plane and no flights for the airline). Same with the nyc Dr. Now all week, officials tracing back all those people who may have had contact. None of that is necessary. Simply you go there for humantarian mission, missionary, visit family etc upon returning you set up a nice area of "quarentine" (with all the amenities. So one says I do my duty or what have you and part of the equation of my determining to go there was a mandatory 3 week vacation upon returning (pay them monies if it's hardship). So a person knows from a cost benefit analysis perspective ahead of time. It's still far cheaper than paying officials to trace back and do damage control thereafter. Again it's always reactive never proactive. Then this nonsense of all people take your temp 2 times daily and self report to government officials?? "that'll work" ugh. This makes sense, but in today's world things perceived as non pc are seldom a viable option. We'd rather pay reactively. idk we all have opinions, it just seems to me that leaders in charge of all citizens well being could devise a better strategy / procedure than the one's put forth to date.
