I too grew up trying to grow long hair. HOWEVER my dad was a teacher, and that sometimes was a challenge. He did let me grow it longer than normal, and I meet him half way and kept in under control. After high school I let it grow down to my shoulders. Then cut it back to get an office job as a finance manger. I did let it grow longer than the rest of the managers in the state. I would often hear from my boss about how long it was. My response was that he was just jealous. I had learned that fact from his wife! So again I met him half way, and kept it under control. Now my hair is cut to a '4'. Funny I still got a very full head of hair. But I just like it shorter.??
