BnB vs 12x5/Songs opening/YRGAHOM/AHDN LP

vs.

It’s time for week 793 of our Stones poll and week 6 of the black n blue polls, which this week will ask: Black N Blue vs 12x5 , which album do you like the best? .12x5 was the second American album by The Stones and released in 1964. There are 12 songs on this one and 7 are covers, with 2 credited to Nanker Phelge (aka the entire band), and the rest to Jagger/Richards.

Which LP do you think is the stronger of the two? To vote in this week’s Stones’ poll, just click on: Stones Weekly Poll.

vs.

In last week’s Stones poll we asked: Black N Blue vs Steel Wheels , which album do you like the best? We had a landslide finish to this question. To find out which LP got caught in the slide and which one ended up on top, just click on this link: Stones Weekly Poll - week 792– poll results. I’ll also add the results of this poll to the Stones VS Page.

Week 435 of the Classic Rock Poll will be running the usual 2 poll questions for the week. The first question asks: What rock song has the best opening to it? (Part 2 of 6)

32 songs will be listed this week and all of them have good or great openings to them for sure. So which one will you pick out of the pack?

To see this week’s list and vote in part 2 of this question, click on Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 1” to vote on this question.

Our VS Rock poll this week will ask:'You Really Got A Hold On Me' (original by The Miracles) vs ' You Really Got A Hold On Me' (cover by The Beatles), which version is best? This is week 3 of looking at Beatle cover songs in the VS poll. Somebody wrote me asking why I don’t list such a poll under the Beatles poll instead of the Rock poll, but I’ll only do that when it’s 100% Beatle songs being listed, if other rockers are included, then it’s a normal Rock Poll question. Plus last week when it was the Beatles vs the Stones in this question, under which weekly poll then would I list the question if not this one?

Anyway, this Beatles’ cover was released on their second LP, With The Beatles, in 1963, with John Lennon on lead vocals. Written by Smokey Robinson and recorded by his group back in 1962, when they were just called “The Miracles”, this became a Top 10 hit (at #8) for the Miracles and Motown (on the Tamla label, which was Motown’s original label). The song was at first only a B side, but deejays loved the song and only played it, so it became the A side instead and became a major hit for the group, with Smokey on lead vocals.

So which version of this song do you dig more? To cast your vote in this week’s VS poll, click on Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 2” to vote on this question.

In last week’s first Rock poll we asked: What rock song has the best opening to it? (Part 1 of 6) 12 of the 34 songs listed competed in Part 1 and 6 of them made it into the top 5 spots and on to Part 6 of this question. They are: “Revolution” - The Beatles (8.6%), “You Really Got Me” - The Kinks (8.6%); “Sympathy for The Devil” - The Rolling Stones (8.2%); “25 or 6 to 4” – Chicago (6.6%), “Baby Blue” – Badfinger (6.6%), and “Highway Star” - Deep Purple (6.6%).

To view the full, final results from this poll, just click on: Classic Rock Poll week 434.

In last week’s VS poll we asked this question : 'Money (That's What I Want)' (cover by The Beatles) vs 'Money (That's What I Want)' (cover by The Rolling Stones), which version is best Week 2 of Fab VS cover questions pitted them against our beloved Stones. We saw another landslide result with this poll question, but which version came out on top? To find out, click on: Classic Rock VS Poll week 434. You can also check out the final results at the brand new VS results page 2, at the Classic Rock site: VS Page 2, List Page 10.

Finally we move on to the Beatles’ poll, where it’s week 188, and week 3 of asking for the least liked song per Beatle LP; this week’s question is: What is your least favorite song on the Beatles LP A Hard Day's Night .

The Beatles third UK album, it was released in the UK on July 10, 1964 and put together for the Beatles first movie, but only the first seven songs showed up in the movie's soundtrack and this one wasn’t the official soundtrack for the flick (the poorer US release of the same name was, that one being released on June 26, 1964 in the U.S. with a different cover, but it isn’t the album we’re looking at in the voting this week).

There are 13 songs total on this UK album and for myself, I like or love all of them. So this is why the question doesn’t ask for the song we like the least, but our least favorite song listed, therefore, you can like a song and still vote for it!

To vote in this week’s Beatles poll, just click on: Beatles Weekly Poll.

In last week’s Beatle poll we asked: What is your least favorite song on the Beatles LP With The Beatles

As has been the case and as I guessed might happen before we started to ask this question looking for least favorite Beatle song per LP, many Beatle fans are still skipping the vote for this series of questions. Heck, we didn’t have this problem when we asked the same question about the Stones least favorite songs on their LPs, so what’s the matter Fab fans? So I wish we could have seen a better turnout then what we had, that being the lowest vote count this year at our Beatles poll or any of our weekly polls, and the first time this year that any of our weekly polls didn’t reach the 400 vote total cast mark. But anyway, “Till There Was You “ was chosen by a mile as the least favorite song with 43% of the vote. Since that’s landslide totals, I don’t think another 100 or even 200 votes would have made a difference in the final outcome (“I Wanna Be Your Man” was almost 26% behind in second place), still it would be nice to see more Beatle fans voting regardless.

To see the rest of the finishing order for this poll, click on: Beatle’s Weekly Poll – week 187. The top results from this poll will also show up on this page: Favorite/Least Favorite Beatle Songs per LP .

I thank all of you who take part in the voting here each week in our 4 weekly polls!
