He meant as a business it's dying. Who would dispute this? Take a look at the Billboard top 200. How many groups on their are Rock? Besides the Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, and maybe the upcoming AC/DC album, Rock doesn't sell. People here are focusing on that one line he said from that entire interview. Read the whole interview. He was basically saying how impossible it is for a young rock group starting out today and trying to make it compared to when he started out. The only way to make money now for Rock acts is on the road.
