Interesting thoughts here.

I agree that the advertising world would still seem to think Rock is alive and the way to go. You hear it all the time in car commercials, and in many other product ads. Rock is also heard in some TV shows (CSI's use of the Who) But they only seem to play iconic classics, and use them when they are aiming at the 30-something to 50-something audience.

I also agree its that Rock doesn't seem relevant to student aged people anymore. What do these people (17-25) listen to? I would guess it's mostly pop, rap, and country. Does anyone know?
