SRV should have been under my "maybe" list since I know so many of you love him and fan support should count a lot (and does), yet for myself, I didn't care a lot for the sound he got out of his guitar (what can I tell ya, he wasn't my cup of tea guitar playing wise). The Marvelettes, they had only 2 or 3 top 10 hits, and that's suppose to be enough to get in? How many top hits did Chicago have, about 20 or more, and they aren't in? It's the same deal with Joan Jett, her band had maybe 2 or 3 hits, so you're gonna let her in for her "bad reputation" only? Having a lot of fans is suppose to help you get in, and that's why KISS got in, but heck, they had (and still have today) tons of fans - since the early 1970s, okay, but where's all of these crazy Joan Jett and the Blackhearts fans? I saw her and her band in Manhattan back around 1980 and the joint was only three quarters filled, they could not sell out a show held on a small NYC west side pier on a beautiful, warm summer night! So where are all of her rabid fans? The answer is that they don't exist in great numbers, so why should they get in with only 2 or 3 hits and few fans? Let them in only because the band's leader is cool and a rocker? Hell, more than half of the rockers out there with only 2 or 3 hits should get in then, since most of them are cool too. But I'm sorry, it has to take more than that to get in, or it should anyway, as it seems to be only who you know and who your manager is/was to get in.
