Well once again it's that time of year when the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame announces the bands to be nominated for induction into the Hall in 2015. It seems like with each passing year, the list just get worse, while bands that should have been in the Hall years ago aren't even nominated! The list this year is as bad as I ever seen, if you missed it, here it is: Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts; Lou Reed; The Smiths; The Spinners; Sting; Chic; Kraftwerk; The Marvelettes; Bill Withers; War; Stevie Ray Vaughan; the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, plus the terrible rap group N.W.A.. What kind of bad drugs are the morons who came up with this list on? Lou Reed is only one of two names listed who should get in - and of course they waited until he died to honor him and let him in as a solo act (of course, he's already in with the VU). The band War should get in too, no problem there. A few others on this list, like Sting, Bill Withers and Paul Butterfield are maybes, and I must confess, I know little about Green Day and Nine Inch Nails, I never cared for their music so perhaps they are better than the little bit I heard of them... and who the fuck is Kraftwerk? I just Googled their name, I see that their a German electronic band, okay, now I know I wouldn't like them and I bet they got little talent if they play that kind of crap. Then you got Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, a band I've seen live and whose show I enjoyed, but damn, they were also lacking big time on any major talent, and I saw them back in their prime! If this was baseball and it's Hall, it would be like letting in a .220 hitter, but heck, that is a better average than I ever gave KISS, and they got in last year. But KISS got in thanks to their many fans, but where are all of these Blackhearts fans? Finally N.W.A - you gotta be fucking kidding me, how do they nominate N.W.A? Does having zero talent count the most to get in the Hall today?
When the fuck will Deep Purple be allowed in?! If there was a band that should had gotten in the first year, it was them. Plus Chicago, too, why weren't they nominated? Or the Moody Blues, or the Electric Light Orchestra? Even Yes, who I was never crazy for, should be in there and all of these bands should had gotten in years ago and long before any of those named this year were even nominated.
Okay, so that's my rant against the Rock Hall for tonight (yeah I know, it sounds a lot like the one I made last year). Oh, you could vote again this year if you like, not that the fans have too much of a say, but we do get a small say, but other than Lou and War, I could not really vote for anybody else while those who we should be able to vote for, aren't even listed.
