A little contrition on my part

Of course it was all down to Brian Jones, no Brian no Stones, right? As you say, if it wasn't for Brian nobody would have heard of Mick Jagger or Keith Richards( I suppose you could throw in Wyman, Watts, Mick Taylor, and even Woodie also.).

I have no doubt that all those hit songs were mostly inspired,and possibly even written in part if not their entirety by Brian and the others and really Jagger and Richards are little more than usurpers. We could indeed be forgiven if we despised them for what they did to the Rolling Stones.

I think sometimes unlike yourself, I don't take a very balanced or rational view of Brian Jones, the Rolling Stones, and his (and the others)place in that story.

I think I have developed an unhealthy Jagger/Richards fixation, and consequently tend to re write history when I say anything on the subject. The blame for that at least, must surely lie somewhere in the passing of time?

For any wrongs that my utterances have helped perpetuate I feel nothing but regret,and more than a tinge of guilt.
