Gorgeous weekend! Just got back last night from Block Island which is an island "between the forks" of Long Island and is considered the state of Rhode Island.
Never been there, but I believe it's closer to Long Island than Rhode Island, should maybe be in NY state instead? Really, it sits in the ocean in the middle of nowhere. But all of RI is so damn small in size, guess RI needs it for that. RI is like the Pluto of US states, it should not be it's own state, IMO (plus it's not an island, either). Heck the county I live in here in Colorado landwise is bigger than RI - and Delaware combined (yet we don't have a single traffic light in the entire county!).... Then you also got Fishers Island near there, which is clearly closer to Connecticut than NY state, in fact, very close to Connecticut, yet that one's a part of NY and shouldn't be, according to those who live there. They got ferry service only to Connecticut from what I understand.
