BnB/B2B/PF/Tommy/Fab gusts

vs.

It’s time to start up week 790 of our Stones poll and the new question is:Black N Blue vs Bridges To Babylon , which album do you like the best? It’s week 3 of the black n blue polls and this week the 1976 release will take on the 1997 and second to last studio release album by the Stones. This album had several different producers and seemed to be somewhat uneven in spots because of that.

So it’s a battle of BnB VS B2B, which one will you go with? To vote in this week’s Stones’ poll, just click on: Stones Weekly Poll.

vs.

In last week’s Stones poll we asked: Black N Blue vs Exile On Main Street , which album do you like the best? We all knew which album was going to win this poll before we started it, the only question was, by how much in the end. Would it be another 90% plus landslide win for EOMS again? To find out, just click on this link: Stones Weekly Poll - week 789– poll results. I’ll also add this result to the Stones VS Page.

Over at the Classic Rock Poll it’s week 432 and we’ll be running the usual 2 poll questions for the week. The first question asks this: Who was the most underrated member of Pink Floyd?

I guess you don’t need me to tell you too much about Pink Floyd, their story is pretty well know, but if you never read the bio I wrote about them years ago, perhaps your might like to check that bit out here..

My guess this week’s voting will be mainly between 2 of the 5 members of the band, Richard Wright and Nick Mason, since the other 3 were well rated, but then again, I’m not always correct in how these polls shape up.

To vote in this week’s first rock poll, click on Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 1” to vote on this question.

Our VS Rock poll this week will ask this:'Eyesight to the Blind' (aka 'The Hawker', Tommy cover by The Who) vs 'Eyesight to the Blind' (Tommy Movie version by Eric Clapton), which version is best?. Week 3 and the final week of taking a look at the 1969 rock opera Tommy in our VS poll. This was the only song in the opera not written by a member of The Who, instead it was written way back in 1951 by Sonny Boy Williamson II. Sung by Rodger Daltrey, it was titled 'The Hawker' on the Tommy album to fit the character of the same name in the opera's story. But by the time the movie came out in 1975, its correct title was used for the movie and its soundtrack, where Eric Clapton sang the song and appeared in the movie playing a new character called "The Preacher", with The Hawker being dropped from the story. Clapton had been playing this blues song live before Tommy came about. Arthur Brown is cast as the character "The Priest" in the film, and sings a verse of this song, but it is not featured on the soundtrack (why is unknown), which is what we are voting on.

To cast your vote in this week’s VS poll for whichever version you like more, click on Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 2” to vote on this question.

In last week’s first Rock poll we asked: Who was the most underrated member of AC/DC? It was a battle between their late lead singer Bon Scott, and rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, and one of them squeezed out 6 more votes than the other to finish first. To find out who that was, just click on: Classic Rock Poll week 431. For now the top results from this poll will be listed at the Top Ten Lists, Page, 9 page, but that page is getting too long and when I have the time, a new list page (10) will be built to show these results (and more).

In last week’s VS poll we asked this question : 'Acid Queen' (Original by the Who) vs 'Acid Queen' (Movie version by Tina Turner), which version is best? Week 2 of asking a Tommy question and the results could not have been any closer. One thing we’ve only seen once before in the 2 full years of running the VS polls is a tie, but it was looking like that might happen with this poll this week the way the voting was going back and forth, but in the last hour tonight the last tie was broken and one song won by a single vote. To see which song came out on top, click on the following link: Classic Rock VS Poll week 431. You can also check out the final results at the Classic Rock’s site’s VS page.

Now to the Beatles’ poll, where it’s week 185, and we will ask this question: Which Beatles song features the best guest musician(s)? The Beatles may not had too many guest vocalists sing with them on their songs, as we saw with last week’s question, only having 11 choices to vote on, but when it came to gust musicians playing with them, they had many…. so many on some songs that I had to list the poll’s choices on a separate page, since the poll’s admin only accepts so many characters in the voting field I use to list the poll’s choices. In all the years of running these polls, this is only the second time I had to do this, so I used the same page I used last time this happened. So to vote in this week poll, and first see the entire list of musicians before you vote, when you get to the voting page, you will have to click on the link inside the poll’s question to see the entire list. Now the list on this special page is the second list on the page, and the songs are not in alphabetical order or any other kind of order, but once you decide on which song you will vote for, there are 2 easy to find links to get you back to the voting booth and the songs there are listed in the usual alphabetical order. 2 other notes, you will not be able to vote directly from the poll menu (for this poll only) because of how I had to set up the link to the special page, and in the choice field drop down menu where you see “see this page for list”, just ignore that for now, as it’s for the archive page, where it only works, and you can only see the archive page after you vote this week. If you usually don’t vote and only check out the results each week at the archive page, this week you will not be able to do that until the poll is over (you will have to vote to do that this week only). This is a bit of a pain in the ass, yes, but please bear with me, as the Beatles did use a lot of people in a number of their songs and this is the only way to get this to work.

To vote in this poll for best guest vocals, just click on: Beatles Weekly Poll.

In last week’s Beatle poll we asked: Which Beatles song features the best guest vocals? One song ran away with this one, that being “All You Need Is Love” taking in 38.8% of the vote. “Yellow Submarine” placed at 13.3%, and third went to “Dear Prudence” at 10.1%.

To see the final results to this poll, click on: Beatle’s Weekly Poll – week 184. The top results from this poll will also show up on this page: Miscellaneous Beatles Lists .

Well another new week is upon is, I do hope it turns into a good one for you, and as always, thanks to all of you who vote each week in our polls!
