Boots

C&W. Soundboards are out there, and the Stones are one of the best bands to collect. So much of their unreleased studio stuff and live shows are "out there". Most folks download from sites these days, instead of trading at sites like etree. I stopped collecting but I am sure there are some here who could tell you "where" the best sites are to download shows.

My burner will not work properly these days which has me "down". I must get it fixed soon. Otherwise I would send you some high quality shows.

Here are 10 CDRs to look for. My review from couple years back:

1) "You Can't Do That, Baby" 'Ladies And Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones' Soundtrack REMASTERED (One can enjoy the great '72 Stones live anywhere in now perfect Soundboard quality.)

2) "Brussels Affair" (The classic! The wildest Midnight Rambler ever is the highest of many highlights from this Live '73 boot put together for a national audience.)

3) "Handsome Girls" With only one officially released song from the the rocking "Some Girls" Tour of 1978, ('When The Whip Comes Down' - Sucking In The 70s), this FOUR discer in perfect Soundboard is a magnificent way to experience a Tour the Stones essentially did not document.

4) "Get Your Leed Lungs Out" The 1971 Classic recorded at Leeds University in England has a cool laid back feel to it. They must've been smoking the good stuff that night! 'Let It Rock', from the show was officially released.

5) "Beat, Beat, Beat, At The Beep" BBC Broadcast recordings of the early Stones during the Brian Era. It's a 2 disc set with a decent portion in near perfect Soundboard. But the recording varies in quality. Still it is the best thing unreleased "out there" of the Brian Era Stones IMO.

6) "Liver Than You'll Ever Be" (Talking about a classic! The first known Stones boot has been remastered with loving care on a boot called "Revolution Sixtinine". Oakland show 1969.

7) "Welcome To New York" Another classic boot, and a Soundboard of a fine 1972 show. The story goes that the tape with this show on it was stolen right from the Soundboard area during the show! Balls?!!! Or just a rumor? A great version of 'Love In Vain' is one of many highlights. It's not a complete show though. 9 songs total.

"Stones Touring Party" A seven disc monster compilation of the '72 Tour. Some of the recordings are not great but most are Soundboard. The greatest of all Love In Vain's can be found here on the "Philadelphia Special" portion of the giant compilation set. I probably should rank this one higher.

9) "Rocks Off!" Hard rocking, "in your face", Soundboard of a Perth, Australia show in 1973. It feels like you are sitting in row one with the speakers 15 feet away. A "hard rock" 'Bitch' is one of many highlights.

10) "Garden State 78" aka "Out On Bail" is a "must have" mainly because Jagger says the "damndest", funniest shit in between and during the songs. It's a spirited, entertaining show recorded at Passaic, New Jersey in '78 and the first Stones Boot I ever owned. "New Jersey's in the country ain't it?!!"

Share your thoughts on "must have" Stones boots!
