No question after the first 2 or 3 years of the group, Keith stood out as the better guitarist in the band, maybe not because he was, but because Brian started to play and be the lead instrument player in the band instead of being the lead guitarist, which Keith took over. Brian by '66 started to play less and less guitar and that's why so many fans say Keith was better. Just because Keith played more guitar didn't mean he was better at it than Brian, but it was hard to compare the 2 after that. I always felt the same way on this, that Keith got to be the better guitarist because he did keep at it, but still, that doesn't mean I'm correct. No question, BJ was the better musician in the Stones and perhaps in all of rock, but I still feel Keith had an edge in playing guitar after '66.
