Unreleased long version in the Stones poll. Whatever possessed them to release only a portion of this delightful song is beyond me. The short version only leaves you wanting to hear more. Fortunately, the "real" (long) version is easily found on bootlegs.
"Death on Two Legs" in the first rock poll. There are a lot of great songs about fake and phony people in this list, but as far as vitriolic character assassination goes, the Freddy Mercury lyrics top everything and then some. Great song, too, my second favourite on that album!
Keno you forgot Skynyrd's "Cry For The Bad Man", which is in the same vein. It was written about the band's former manager, Alan Walden, who they thought had cheated them. RVZ later regretted his words and apologized. Freddy Mercury went to his grave still thinking every word he wrote in "Death On Two Legs".
It wasn't my decision to make, but I would have put fictional characters in a separate poll. Too different from fakes and phonies.
Elvis Presley in the second poll, although both versions are truly excellent.
