When/where did the Stones do the very best live version of Start Me Up? And can you possibly show it to me?
I used to be someone who said "I love the song, but only on the album".
Somehow the opening riff never had the edge, the clarity, or the tension when done live. And I still do see real distinctions here between live and studio... but I have come to LOVE listening to live version of it. As its so often the opener in the past 20 years it has a real thrilling feel to it, Audiences are always ready, knowing, charged up.
I don't think the Still LIfe version is that amazing. But many other live versions really rock.
Which is the very best?
