I like the Kinks a lot, and have seen them a few times, they could be hit and miss live, same with their recorded stuff, some of which is iffy imo.
I watched Ray on Jools Holland's last New Year show, and thought he just wasn't up to it any more, but if like wls says he has come back with a great album, then maybe it was just an off night.
I also have a friend who doesn't rate 'Lola' wtf?...it's my second all time juke box fave.
