Back in 1990 everything was new for me. Loved 2000 Light Years, though I lacked the knowledge that I was looking at something special.
In 1995 I got some amazing songs during the VL-Tour: I got Fool To Cry and Heartbreaker and Monkey Man and Love In Vain in the first leg of that tour. I was most content with Monkey Man (and less with Fool To Cry, but it was not something I expected to see and it was nice that they played it anyway). But then I got tickets for the two extra shows they did in Rotterdam: along came Shattered, Let It Bleed, Shine A Light (in a stadium! worked like a charm), and Far Away Eyes on the last night.
B2B gave us Memory Motel while I was giving my wife (then my girlfriend) a 'no way' on the odds of seeing that tune. They did bring Dave Matthews along to rape it one night, but we went several times so we got over it.
Licks was fantastic with the changing sets: we had tickets for a club show so it was one surprise after the other: CYHMK? Worried About You, Hand Of Fate..wow! But I did discover this place around that time so there was some advance knowledge. Still: no post or comment on how great it is to That's How Strong My Love Is on stage can prepare you for the real deal. Amazing.
ABB: I was Lucky enough to catch Sway in Amsterdam. When they returned for an extra gig the next year, CYHMK? and She Was Hot were part of the set.
This time around Midnight Rambler with MT had the same thing going as That's How Strong My Love Is in 2003. In Dusseldorf I got Worried About You as the ballad. Very nice.
