Sorry to hear about your Mom Bluesboy!
My Stepmom died in 2000. A year later, I had the most vivid dream of her in that I met her and got to "say good-bye" and we hugged for the longest time. I remember feeling such great comfort and love. There were no words and she looked in her 30's but had died in her 50's. I woke up crying and was really touched by this. So much so that I phoned my sister and she was silent on the other end. I asked what was wrong and she told me my neice had a dream about her the very same night and they met at the table and were colouring (like they used to all the time when gramma would come and visit). We realized it was a year later to the date of her death.
Also, when my cat died (don't even go there Bucky) I would see him in places out of the corner of my eye a few days later (in the window sill or on the counter). When he died and I left the vet's office, there was a huge rainbow in the sky so now I remember my beloved Chester whenever I see a rainbow. He and I were very close, as close as you can be with a cat lol.
One final story (although I have many more) that was really freaky is my sister was camping with her family and it was their last day there. She got up and started flipping out packing and everyone was wondering what the hell was wrong with her. But nobody wanted to question her as she was scaring everyone. They left the campground and about 15 minutes later a tornado went right through their campsite.
