I gave the R&R Circus cover a 9. I think it's a pretty cool cover. I still wonder why it took so long for this performance to be released. The official story, of course, is that Mick was pissed that almost everybody on there was better than the Stones. At least that's how he supposedly saw it. I have a bootleg (admittedly incomplete) of this performance and I don't think that everybody else was better than the Stones.
I wonder if there is any truth to this "official" reason for the very lengthy delay in getting this show released.
"God" by John Lennon in the first rock poll. It totally crushes all the other entries IMO. "God is a concept by which we measure our pain." Only John Lennon could come up with those lyrics. An awesome song on an awesome album.
No vote in the second rock poll. I'm not into the Velvet Underground. Never was.
"Beatles For Sale" in the Beatles poll. I had to look up the "Early Beatles" album, which I never owned. I have all those songs on other albums. Maybe the fact that those songs are all available elsewhere explains why this one is on the "least liked" list?
