The entire Ukraine crisis revolves around Putin's ego. Ukraine has been a failing democracy since it became an independend nation years ago and Russia kept it's grip on that country. Earlier this year a coalition of people that wanted that grip loosened (sp?) chased of Putin's man in office and it's been crisis ever since. Russia confiscated the Krim region and supports the pro-Russia drunks in the eastern part of the country with funds and guns.

This was a mistake by those rebels. They make it worse in their reluctance towards the experts that are not allowed on the scene because that would make certain what the world already knows. A bunch of wankers got a rocket system from Russia and they targeted the wrong plane. A pointless act in a pointless war.
