Found myself at the Rock And Roll HOF on Saturday, and the Pro Football HOF in Canton on Sunday. New GF Kerry was with me and I have to say my expectations of the R&R HOF were not only met but exceeded. What an interesting piece of architecture that building is with it's many levels, and while the Hall has been letting in some unworthy inductees in recent years only the cream of the crop have exhibits of noteworthy size.
I was pleased to see our boys were represented as well or better than any artist(s). A hallway with nothing but photos of the Stones and their own large corner on the first floor with Jagger outfits of the '70, '72, '89 and '94. Tour posters etc. Chuck Berry, Elvis, The Beatles, and Hendrix had similar sections but no hall of only their photos. HA! Take that!!! lol Plenty of film to view and hear, and a fine surprise was music was playing through out the place through a good sound system both inside and outside the structure. The store had a humongous CD section and an abundance of cool souvenirs. I spent too much but that was to be expected. A highlight was a special exhibit and film on Festivals. The screen was so large and the sound system so perfect you almost "felt" you were there for Woodstock, Monterey etc.
If you're ever in Cleveland you gotta go. You'll be glad you did.
Second visit to the Pro Football HOF. More interactive stuff this time and being a football junkie I obviously was in Heaven. No football fan should miss it if they are on I 77 an hour south of Cleveland.
What a great weekend!
A cool bonus was a phone conversation with the one and only, '2000 Man' as I was heading south on my way back to Virginia. Rick had me laughing big time and is just as sharp on the phone as he is here in print.
