Here we go again agreeing to disagree... LOL! I think that classically trained musicians have their place in rock music. One Brian Jones certainly did. The extent of his classical training has been questioned (unfairly IMO) but there is no doubt that he did have some.

Anyone who doubts that classically-trained pianists have their place in rock music should take a good listen to Billy Powell. He managed to make his place in a guitar-heavy band and he owed that place to his training. Just listen to some of his wonderful solos and I'm sure you'll agree.
