DC/B2B/Rock Hall/Dandy/Lennon

vs.

Well another new week is here, and tonight where I live it's snowing like crazy, after 2 days in a row with near record highs of close to 70F, this afternoon it started to snow and it's coming down pretty hard at the moment. So it's a good nite to stay indoors and kick off this week's polls. At our Stones poll it's week number 767 and we will continue with our long running battle of Stones’ album vs Stones album polls. For the second week in a row we are looking at the 1965 release, December's Children (And Everybody's). So here's the new question: December's Children vs Bridges To Babylon, which album do you like the best? Bridges To Babylon was released in 1997, and it's hard to believe this is their second from last studio album release, as it seems like it was released so long ago. Well, I guess it was. Anyway, this one has 13 songs on it and is known by some fans as the Stones album with too many cooks, with several different producers credited on this LP.

December's Children (And Everybody's) contained 12 tracks and reached No. 4 in the US and went gold, yet some didn't feel it was a real true Stones album, not by how it was put together.

So which album do you perfer? To vote, click here: Stones Weekly Poll.

In last week’s Stones poll, we asked: December's Children vs Out Of Our Heads, which album do you like the best? DC didn't do too well in its first week of polling, as OOOH ripped it apart in last week's polling.

To see how much of a beating DC took, ckeck out the final results from last week’s Stones poll, here: Stones Weekly Poll - week 766 – poll results. You can also check out the final results from this poll at the Stones VS List Page.

Over at the Classic Rock Poll, it’s week 409, and as usual we will run the normal 2 poll questions. For our first question, a repeat of a question that was asked here 2 years ago, about the Rock Hall of Fame, which is: Of the following artists not in the Rock 'n Roll Hall Of Fame, who should be in there the most? I believe this is the first time I've repeated a Rock poll question, but this is one that we can do that with. Since the last time we asked this, 6 of the artists who were listed in the last poll, are now in the Hall, but 5 of them saw one or less votes last time around, so us fans didn't really want them in anyway! The only one that got a good number of votes and who made it in last year, was Rush, who landed in 5th place in that poll.

As you know, the new class of inductees were entered on Thursday, to the usual comments of 'Why them?", or something along those lines. When you look at the list of artists on this week's poll list, you got to think to yourself over and over again, 'Why aren't they in?', or you maybe will even think 'They aren't in yet?' or 'How are they not in?'.

So, which one should be in the hall the most? To make your pick and vote, just click on Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 1” to vote on this question.

For our second Rock Poll question, we have the usual VS poll, and this week’s VS question asks: 'Dandy' (original by The Kinks) vs 'Dandy' (cover by Herman's Hermits), which version is best? 'Dandy' was written by Ray Davies about his brother Dave's habit of having more than one girlfriend at a time. It was on the Kink's 1966 Face to Face album, and released as a single in parts of Europe only, where it did well, reaching #1 in Germany, #2 in Belgium and #3 in the Netherlands.

Herman's Hermits cover was released in the same year and also only released as a sngle in 3 counties, reaching #3 in New Zealand, #1 in Canada, and number 5 in the US. That in turn makes you wonder why both bands didn't try for more releases in other countries, since the song did well wherever it was released.

As usual there will be video links to each song in the voting booth so you can have a listen before you vote. Since both of the songs are very short, you will need less than 5 minutes to listen to both of them, if you wish to compare them.

To cast your vote in this week’s VS poll, click on Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 2” to vote on this question.

In last week’s Rock poll, the first question asked was this: Who is (or was) the most talented and versatile Rock musician? Brian Jones won by a rather large margin, with 16.5% of the vote. Paul McCartney did well too, at 14%, but in third place in the distant with 4.5% of the vote was Prince. Somebody last week wonder how Prince might do in the voting since this was a Classic Rock poll. Well, he did pretty good I would say coming in third.

To check out where all of the others came in, just click on the following link: Classic Rock Poll week 408. Or, to just view the Top 10 Songs only from the list, click on Top Ten Lists, Page, 9.

In last week’s VS poll we asked: 'All I Really Want to Do' (original by Bob Dylan) vs 'All I Really Want to Do' (cover by The Byrds) vs 'All I Really Want to Do' (cover by Cher), which version is best? Another poll where the outcome wasn't close at all, well, at least for first place, second and third place was very close! Click here: Classic Rock VS Poll week 408 , to see the final results. You can also check out the final results at the Classic Rock’s site’s VS page.

Last but not least is our the Beatles’ weekly poll, where it’s week 162, and we will continue looking for the best sung Beatles song, by voting each week for the best one song sung by each Beatle, and then in the last week of voting we will put the top 4 songs chosen for all 4 Fabs up against each other and see who’s singing is picked out of that bunch. So this week’s question is: Of the Beatles songs that John sings lead on, which one do you feel he sang the best? (Part 3 of 4) We are listing the songs John sang lead on going by alphabetic order, with another 28 songs to choose from this week. To vote, just click on: Beatles Weekly Poll.

In last week’s Beatles poll we asked: Of the Beatles songs that John sings lead on, which one do you feel he sang the best? (Part 2 of 4) Only 7 of the songs from Part 2 will live on to see Part 4, and they are: Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) (14.7%); In My Life (13.6%); I Am the Walrus (13.2%); Money (That's What I Want) (12.9%); Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (12.5%); I Call Your Name (5.3%), I Feel Fine (5.3%).

To see the full, final results, click on: Beatle’s Weekly Poll – week 161.

Thanks to all of you who voted in all of this week's and last week's polls!
