Steel Driving Hammer started it back in early 1999, although back then when we used it, it was always stated in one way only - that being: "Hit me Ronnie!" The first post it came up in was SDH talking about a boot tape he had that starts off with Keith saying "Hit me Ronnie!" when they were about to record a song. After that post, SDH would sometimes end his posts with that line, and then other Gassers started to use it too. In time we started to add to it and dropped the "hit me" part, with the "Ronnie" part being the key that lives on to this day. Below is a link with the earliest use of it in a saved post by SDH. Many of the old posts from 1999 were lost and not saved. I was thinking the orinigal post about the boot was still up in the archives, but I can't find it right now and I start work in 2 minutes, so the post/link below, from May 28, 1999, and posted on the old retired Gas board will have to do for now: http://www.keno.org/messages/7359.html
You know, I can't even remember the last time a post ended in Gasland with Hit Me Ronnie!!
