Dude...NKOTB thought they were writing their own history too. That's the league those people are in.
As for enjoying that guest appearance on IORR: you continue to amaze me. IMO that take on the song was a total train wreck.
Anyway. It appears I totally disagree with you and LYL on this gimmick. But hey: each show needs a piss break right?
There's a very short list of people that add something to a Stones show. I'm talking Springsteen, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Macca, Tom Waits, Buddy Guy. That's the level. They belong on stage with the Stones. And even then: I would not need them.
Then you have a few people that are taking care of the rock n roll legacy who deserve the nodd, like Jack White or Dave Grohl. But that would already be a subject of debate. Much as I love Jack White, he was a nervous wreck when he was playing with the Stones.
A band that makes or used to make real music for the ages should not make way for the plastic people that became famous because they won one of them awful talent shows. It's as damaging to their legacy as the prequels were to the Star Wars Saga.
I'm scared to death that they are gonna ask De Toppers to join them if the play the Netherlands. You don't know De Toppers, but if you follow the link you can see them. ANd I'm not sending you an album wls. Your record collection is scary enough as it is...;)
