First, I don't think Mick or any of the Stones are pissed at the promoters over the ticket prices. They drove these prices by demanding the money that got upfront. In order to make it work they have to get about $250/ticket average, and they knew that going in. Unfortunately the ticket prices got so high people didn't bite and now the promoter is simply trying to get people in the door. Remember they make money on other things like vending. And they probably get a cut on the merchandise... and history shows that the average fans spends another $100 on that stuff
And I will bet that they are secretly pissed also over some of the guest stars that have been foisted on them. They are troupers, but just look at Keith's face during ATGB....
Also the Stones are behind the guests, not the promoter. And I don't think anyone is pissed. I also don't think that Keith's look on ATGB had anything to do with Ms Swift being on stage. Perhaps he wasn't happy but I never saw him looking over at Ronnie like it was some joke. I think some fans (grumpy old farts) are simply seeing things they choose to see. Or hear for that matter, because Taylor Swift did a decent job (not great) on ATGB the other night. And every video I've seen seems to be better then the last. Did you see the official clip the Stones put out for ATGB? They have only done that for a few of the guests spots.
It seems clear we have a Live Duets album coming our way and that has nothing to do with the promoter. That is all the Stones. It isn't just Mick. "Some" people can bitch and moan about these guests... I am not crazy about all of them myself. But they are guests that the Stones have invited on their stage and it is one song. I think the average fan is more excited and accepting as well. Also a lot of this seems to be about who "some" people think are worthy to join them on stage. That is completely subjective from fan to fan. I found it really funny that some people even thought that Bruce Springsteen wasn't worthy to join them on stage at a show in New Jersey. Really? Like I said, I don't like all people they have selected but I will show them respect as guests of the Stones and deal with whatever comes my way.
If I get Bon Jovi in Philly, so be it Ronnie!
