RE: May 31 show

Pretty Beat Up hit the nail on the head about the show on Friday night. I’m sorry he didn't have a chance to meet up with us before the show. It was also my 7th time seeing the Stones and it was the best! I was so worried about the sound in the United Center since I was never there for a concert before but it sounded great! I just watched a few bits and pieces of the show on Youtube and it doesn't come close to what we heard and saw last Friday night. I had goose bumps and a knot in my throat because I was so amazed at how good they played. Gimme Shelter got the young lady sitting in front me going as it did me too! That was the best version I ever witnessed. Emotional Rescue was absolutely awesome as was ADTL with Sheryl Crow and of course CYHMK, Midnight Rambler and Satisfaction with Mick Taylor was. I can see why steel wls likes ER live. I thought the Pay Per View was good but seeing them live was 100 times better. I would love to have a video or audio of the show I attended. During introductions, Mick said it’s almost Ronnie’s Birthday and when introducing Charlie he said it was almost his Birthday too. That’s when Mick started everybody on singing Happy Birthday to Charlie which can be seen in a post below.

Anyhow, on Friday late afternoon, we checked into our hotel (Best Western) in Hillside, IL about an hour later than expected. Friday night traffic in Chicago was busy like it is on most days. We checked in and hopped back into our car and drove the 12 miles to meet Maxmeister and a few others from Rocks Off at Park Tavern near the United Center. We parked the car and walked in to the bar and I saw the table with Rocks Off signs and walked over to Rick and tapped him on the shoulder and met him in person for the first time finally! What a great guy! It's like I met him before. We chatted, ate and drank until it was time to catch a shuttle bus to the show. The bus went back and forth about every five to ten minutes. We got dropped off and walked into the United Center to buy our T-Shirts and whatever else. I got a text from a friend who wanted to buy me a drink because I helped her to get her tickets to that Friday night show when she couldn't get through online for the Tuesday show. I use to work with this woman and she thought the show was excellent also.

The Rolling Stones played with real energy because I think the days off between shows really helps them to stay fresh. When I walk into my job at the hospital, there is a sign on the employee entrance that says; It’s not “just another day” for our patients. I believe the Rolling Stones are playing that way for the fans! Playing every show 100% and giving it their best shot!

Like PBU said, if you don't have a ticket yet, get one for a show near you. It was the best few hundred dollars I ever spent on any concert.

If I think of more things to say, I will add it to this thread at a later time.
