I've never really noticed the cowbell in most of the songs listed. LOL!
Unless you listen for it, then I would guess 90% of the songs listed are that way. But if you do listen for it, you can't miss it in most of these songs.
There is only one song that I can think of where the cowbell plays throughout and is also the lead instrument - on the song "Time Has Come Today" by The Chambers Brothers. Voting wise, it is barely in the lead right now (and it should be in the lead, but by a landslide, not by 2 votes). Really, this song should win once we get through the entire 3 weeks of polling, but when I see how small of a lead it has right now, I guess many don't know it (too bad, it is the best cowbells ever recorded, although it's actually 2 cowbells being hit constantly, one after the other). The Stones rarely use(d) a cowbell in their songs (I could only think of 3), but you can bet next week when that one Stones' song that also has a prominent cowbell throughout it is listed, I bet it not only will win next week, but for reasons we have noted in the past with Stones songs in the rock poll, it will win in part 3 too, where it should really come in second, since the The Chambers Brothers song is unlike any other rock song when it comes to using a cowbell. Those who don't know it or remember it, check it out on YouTube and tell me I'm wrong!
