Wow, what an amazing show that was! My wife and I both agreed, that was the best the band ever sounded, since we've been seeing them anyways - 94 for me. It's too bad I couldn't have made it to the pre-party to meet Maxmiester and Dano but the time we got to Chicago, checked in our room and took the blue line downtown, it was about an hour to show time, so we just went straight there. Every member of the band was dedicated and did their parts perfectly no matter how big or small per song. There was not a bad song all night. If anyone that still has a chance to go, and can, do so. It's unbelievable how good they sounded. All guitars were well mixed and well played, Jagger moved and sang with conviction and seemed very pleased with how well the crowd was enjoying the show, and Charlie was having a great time behind the kit. Even were we were sitting (way up in the back) every one was dancing and singing - it was amazing. It was really great to see them open with Cloud and play ER. even Keith seem to enjoy jamming along to Er, dispite having not played on the studio track and having slighting the song in the past. The two new songs were fresh and fun. Seeing Can't You Here Me Knocking and Midnight Rambler with Taylor was surreal, and it very cool to see Sheryl Crow joining them for All Down the Line. Many of the warhorses that were done sounded better than they have in years - and I felt as excited to hear them , as I ever did - like it was my first concert. My only hope now is that they can take this sharp and focused version of the stones to the studio, with both Taylor and Ronnie in tow, and see what kind of album they can produce.
The Stones truly proved it to at least those fans of the that show, they still are and will always bee the greatest r 'n r band ever.
