I hope the best for your dad SV. Seizures alone are scarcely enough, then what can happen to the person having one, can be worst than the seizure itself, as was the case with my daughter. As it is now, I don't want her to drive anymore. If she had been driving when this took place, holy shit, she could had killed herself, or her kids, or somebody's else's kids!
Marijuana cannot and does not cause seizures. If anything, weed helps prevent them, so it wasn't that (I wish my kid used weed for her health problems, but she hasn't use any in a few years). Now alcohol does cause seizures in people, that's a fact, as can certain meds, and of course, epilepsy. But you will never know for sure without tests.
I've been reading up on seizures since my Jackie had one, and according to what I found, an absence seizure rarely happens for the first time to adults. It's something that children first get and they can continue to get them into their adult years. My daughter never once had a absence seizure, or any seizures as a child, or as a adult before last week. So who knows for sure what to believe. I just hope it never happens again to your dad or my child. But now I'm worrying that it could, since it did happen once.
