My Dad came to visit on the weekend. We went over to my brother's on Saturday and were getting into a few beers. My Dad had two (he is normally a heavy drinker so these should have been like drinking water for him). He also had open heart surgery last February but not a heart attack at that time so he healed much quicker than normal and has been doing great). My brother shared a joint of weed and I was very fried (I smoke way more than my Dad so I was just enjoying my buzz). So all of a sudden, he had two seizures. We called an ambulance and got him to the hospital and they did some blood tests, including a cat scan. They all turned up negative which was good but what the hell happened? So we think it was that j that did him in but now that Keno has mentioned about an absent seizure I'm going to google that. Plus he received all new meds in February so perhaps those, plus beer, plus "seizure" weed made it happen. The Doctor was baffled as she didn't know why he had them (we failed to tell her about the j - still illegal in these parts). What a scare - if we hadn't been there, he could have fallen on the concrete and could have cracked open his head. He was totally confused and didn't know what happened either - he got that "gonna pass out" feeling when everything started going black. And each seizure was less than a minute. So I got to ride in my first ambulance and once my adrenilin shut down, I realized how friggin buzzed I was. We were at that hospital for 6 hours. My brother kept on talking about this bloody homemade soup we were gonna have for dinner and at the hospital that's all I could think of lol. All is good now. My Dad is going to make an appointment with a neuroligist just to make sure everything is indeed okay (he's going to tell the doc about that joint too).
