A silly cartoon dog indeed! Is 'Goofy' a dog or what? I was never quite sure! I do have an affinity with that distant little lump of spinning rock , we share many characteristics. Maybe I share a few also with he who rules the Underworld, but I wouldn't think so. My nickname 'pluto' was acquired back in my schooldaze, and was taken from the brand name of my drink of choice, a particularly sweet South African fortified wine. Fortified wine was very popular with the guys on the ponderosa at house parties,as we danced(staggered) away to the Isley Brothers and Four Tops etc. There was a wide range to choose from, Eldorado, Four Crown, Lucky Numbers and Lanliq to name but four. It was always 'pluto' for me though! So there you are, that's how I got the name!.... I've been thinking about this Mick Taylor thing, and I'm thinking, if we've got Mick Taylor why can't we have Dick Taylor? I mean the guy is still playing away with Phil May in the latest version of the Pretty Things. Saw them not that long ago, still brilliant! Lets face it, it was Dick what showed Keith all the moves in the lavy at art school!In my book that says no Dick no 'Stones'. So any of you guys going to the gigs that feel the same as me, I would urge you, once the shouts of "We want Mick" have died down, to give out with "I want Dick" " I want Dick". I will certainly be doing this at Hyde Park.....oh, hold on, I've just looked at that again. Maybe not!
