RE: Stones' London

As far as I know a Stones walking tour does not exist. Have fun!

As far as I know, they don't exist. There is a walking tour for the Beatles and plenty of knowledge about the Beatles. Otherwise London seems to ignor the Stones in my opinion. One reason is that most of the Stones are still alive. If you are deceased & famous in the United Kingdom you are eligible for blue historical plague on any building you are associated with. The Edith Grove appartment would qualify for Brian but no plague was there when I visited a decade ago. Unfortunately this could be easily addressed if his hardcore fans wouldn't waste their time putting up ugly statues and did the necessary work to petition for a blue plague. Lesser British rock stars and even Americans like Jimi Hendrix have plagues all around London.

I did take a very nice tour (London Walks) of Chelsea once but even the tour guide was clueless where Mick & Keith had lived. She did know they had lived there but not much else. I actually informed her where Mick had lived as she talking about the house right next store. That street is full of history. Keith's old place at #3 is on the other end of the street and the tour guide did tell the story about how he had been asked to leave. I am not going to write it here but Mick has new place with his current girlfriend on Cheyne Walk that can easily be found if you do some googling. Please no camping out SheRat!

The Chelsea drug store was on Kings Road which is also a short walk away. I understand the current site is where the McDonald's now stands. Hey, you can probably purchase a cherry coke. The entire area is interesting and you are definitely on ground the Boys once walked upon when they could still go out in public alone.

I never did the Beatles' walk but can recommend some of the other London Walks offerings. As I said the Chelsea one was nice and the Little Vince was another good one. They also do a good pub crawl tour up in Hampstead (north London) which is a really good destination. However, if you do make it up there do check out the Spaniards Inn which I don't believe is on the tour. No Stones history that I know of but still really cool.

Not historic but there is also Bill's Sticky Fingers in nearby Kensington. I hope if you are around for the Hyde Park show on July 13th that we might catch you there? I've only been there once before but the food was pretty good.
